An object in a space which cannot be seen and cannot be touched. The installation Raumklang by Zeno van den Broek and Robin Koek can only be experienced by listening: frozen sound becomes augmented architecture. A few years ago Zeno and Robin discovered their mutual fascination for spatial sound. They are developing a system which makes it possible to place an auditive sculpture in a space. In this process they are making use of the acoustic characteristics of the space and the resonance of materials within. These qualities become the essence of a site-specific composition which intertwines the virtual and physical architecture. Navigating through headphones visitors experience the spatial position and dimension of this virtual and site specific sound sculpture, which develops in time through movement.

Zeno van den Broek is a composer and audiovisual artist. He works in a multi-sensory way to research and express physical, social and acoustic notions. He utilises audiovisual means to create site and concept specific works. This trans-disciplinary method has a strong conceptual foundation, originating from a background in architecture. Zeno works with a characteristic artistic language based on minimalist and fundamental elements such as sine waves, lines, noise and grids.
Robin Koek is active as a composer, musician and designer of artistic systems. His works explore states wherein acoustic, digital and analog signals intertwine and merge in to one body of sound. The origins of his work follow a line of research into acoustic ontology, urban transcription and spatial potential of sound. His tape, live and installation works immerse the audience and construct new realities, manifesting through multi-channel projection and binaural experiences.
